Frequently Asked Questions

Our AmpCharge on the road charging points have industry standard CCS Type 2 and CHAdeMO connectors attached to charging connectors as required by ARENA, which are generally compatible with most electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles available in Australia. You shouldn't need to bring your own charging cable to site. However, you may need to bring your plug adapter.

Our charging rates can be found via the Ampol app when at a location. We offer pay-as-you-go charging with several easy payment methods including Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, Apple Pay and Google Pay (via our Ampol app).

We deliver secure payments via our payment processing provider platform Stripe, so your personal information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Your electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle should lock the connector in place once your charging session begins. Along with your vehicle's security features, AmpCharge on the road charging locations are placed at our well-known Ampol locations where sites are well-lit and staffed where possible

*Ampol AmpCharge Free Cadbury Boost Nuts 80g offer is available to select AmpCharge customers who initiate an electric vehicle charging session at Ampol Foodary locations with Ampol AmpCharge public charging facilities. Offer needs to be redeemed via QR code by an Ampol Retail Team Member during Ampol Foodary store opening hours. The QR code will be sent to AmpCharge customers’ phone via SMS or email, depending on the customer’s communication preferences. Customers must be opted in to receive Ampol marketing at the time of the charging session. The offer is valid for 45 minutes from customer receipt of SMS/email.
