Maintaining your EV charger
Safety Tips
- Do not use the charging connector with an extension connector or an adapter.
- Never use force to remove the plug from the vehicle. Dangerous electric arcs could result in serious injury or death.
- Never touch the plug or charging connector if the plug is smoking or melting.
- Always check the charging connector and the plug contacts for damage and contamination before use.
- Never use a damaged charging connector or vehicle inlet.
- Never use contacts that are dirty or damp.
- Never attempt repairs to the charging connector. Replace damaged hardware, repairs are not possible.
Once you’ve contacted a licensed electrician, describe the installation work you need completed. They should be able to provide a quote in writing for you to accept.
- Only clean the charging connector when it is not connected to the vehicle.
- Clean the charging connector and dirty contacts with a dry cloth.
- Never use abrasive cleaning agents, water jet or steam jet cleaners.
- Never submerge the charging connector or plug in liquids.
