AmpolCard with EV charging

You can start charging as soon as your AmpolCard, enabled with EV charging, is received which is approximately 7-10 business days from approval of your application. 

AmpolCards with EV charging are sent by standard Australia Post and generally take approximately 7-10 business days to arrive following approval of your application.

Tap your AmpolCard with EV charging on a charger to start a charging session and press 'stop' on the charger screen to stop a charging session. You do not need to enter a PIN or odometer read at the charger. 

However, before using your AmpolCard with EV charging to purchase Foodary in-store items, fuel or carwashes, you will need to first set up your card PIN. This can be done online via your AmpolCard Card Portal or in-store (you will be prompted to set one up on the card terminal). This does not need to be done before using your AmpolCard for EV charging.

AmpolCard with EV charging is accepted at all AmpCharge public charging locations. Find your nearest site with Google or Apple Maps, or check our site locator here.

Charging instructions are displayed on all our EV chargers, and it is clearly marked where to tap your card.

For questions relating to your AmpolCard, call AmpolCard Customer Service on 1300 365 096 (Monday to Friday, 8:30am-6pm Sydney time).

There is a daily limit on the total value of EV charging transactions of $150 per 24-hour period (resetting at 2am each day).

Unfortunately, AmpolCard with EV charging sessions will not count towards your Everyday Rewards. You can still earn points on regular and premium fuels, and shop transactions in Ampol Foodary.

Yes, your AmpolCard with EV charging can be managed in the Card Portal.

Unfortunately, this functionality is not available for EV charging transactions at the moment. However, you can add your AmpolCard as a payment option for fuel payments in the Ampol app.

Simply log in to the Card Portal. Alternatively, call AmpolCard Customer Service on 1300 365 096.

You can reset or change your PIN using our mobile enabled Card Portal. Alternatively, call AmpolCard Customer Service on 1300 365 096.

Remember, you don't need a PIN for AmpCharge EV charging.

You can update your contact phone number, email address and postal address using our mobile enabled Card Portal. Alternatively, call AmpolCard Customer Service on 1300 365 096.

Please report it immediately to AmpolCard Customer Service on 1300 365 096.

If enabled on your AmpolCard, you will be able to use it for:

• EV charging
• Fuel payments
• Convenience store items at Ampol Foodary
• Car washes

• Roadside assistance - with additional fees
• Service and repairs

You'll receive a statement at the beginning of each month. Your closing balance will be debited from your nominated bank account on the Due Date or the next business day. Please ensure sufficient funds are available to avoid account suspension.

Each month your invoice will have a list of each EV charging transaction including the Charge Card ID, location, time, kWh, rate and transaction cost.

Discount applies to the standard retail price of EV charging at AmpCharge public charging sites when paid for with an AmpolCard with EV charging.

Various locations have different charging rates to others. Our charging rates can be found via the site locator in the Ampol app when at a location. Please make sure you have enabled location services in the Ampol app.

You can check real time charger availability via Ampol app, Google Maps or Apple Maps.

EV charging must be activated on your account to access AmpCharge public EV charging sites. This can be done when applying for AmpolCard or later in the Card Portal.

The default EV charging spend limit is $150 per 24-hour period.
