Introducing AmpolCard with AmpCharge EV charging

AmpolCard with AmpCharge EV charging helps you to manage fuel, EV charging and other eligible on-road expenses through your AmpolCard account. It is ideal if you are looking to introduce EVs or managing a mixed fleet, with streamlined statements, reporting card management and more all available through the Card Portal.

You can also save 4c/kWh on every charge at AmpCharge public charging locations when using an AmpolCard with AmpCharge EV charging enabled*.

Add AmpCharge EV charging to your account and cards

It's simple to add AmpCharge EV charging to eligible cards through your Card Portal. If a card is not RFID-enabled, the Card Portal will advise that a reissue of the card is required^. Follow the steps below to access EV charging:

  1. Log in to your Card Portal.
  2. Enter the card number in Quick Card Search.
  3. Open Card Detail and click Edit in the top-right corner of the Card Detail tab.
  4. Under Products and Services, select AmpCharge EV charging.
  5. Review and submit. Follow any prompt advising if a reissue of a RFID-enabled card is required.

If AmpCharge EV charging cannot be selected, contact AmpolCard Customer Service to update your account-managed settings.

^To ensure uninterrupted card use for fuels and other enabled products, your existing card will remain active for 25 days or until your first transaction on the reissued card. Your existing card will not work for EV charging transactions.

Order new cards with AmpCharge EV charging

  1. Log in to your Card Portal and select Cards.
  2. Select Add New Card.
  3. Complete the card details and select AmpCharge EV charging under Products and Services.
  4. Review and submit.

New cards are sent by standard Australia Post and generally arrive in approximately 7-10 business days.

How to charge with AmpolCard

Tap your AmpolCard with EV charging on a charger to start a charging session and press 'stop' on the charger screen to stop a charging session. You do not need to enter a PIN or odometer read at the charger.

Daily AmpCharge EV charging limit

A default AmpCharge EV charging spend limit of $150 applies per card in each 24-hour period. This is separate from fuel and convenience limits. An authorised account holder can contact AmpolCard Customer Service to discuss changing it.

Access the AmpCharge public charging network

AmpolCard with AmpCharge EV charging is accepted at all AmpCharge public charging locations. The network includes 397 charging bays across 105 sites in Australia and is continuing to grow. Check the site locator to find your nearest location.

Manage your cards and transactions

Use the mobile-enabled Card Portal to order cards, update card details, reset PINs (please note PINs can only be enabled for fuel and Foodary transactions), view transactions and generate reports. AmpCharge EV charging transactions will also appear on your monthly statement separate from your fuel transactions.

Value added services and other features

Roadside Assistance and Service & Repairs through AmpolCard are available for electric vehicles and can be added to your AmpolCard account. Additional fees and eligibility criteria apply.

Everyday Rewards points are not available on AmpCharge EV charging transactions, and AmpolCard cannot be used as a payment method for EV charging in the Ampol app. AmpolCard may still be added to the Ampol app for eligible fuel payments.
